Four roadsters gathered for breakfast at the Horse Shoe Cafe on a lovely summer morning. Alas, to discover this long-time Benson landmark eatery is no more. A note on the door said "closed for good." We will miss this wonderful cafe and delicious frontier cuisine as it passes into history.
So, with keen appetites, they set out to look for another "stick to your ribs" breakfast place. Landing at Reb's Cafe up the street a few blocks on Main. The french toast hit the spot. The eggs over easy were a welcome site, too. Oh, the coffee matched a Mystic Solstice's color.
This day was a premire morning for open top touring. On to Marsh Station Road for a photo op at the La Cienega railroad bridge crossing. On route to the Old Spanish Trail, the roadsters noted a couple riding a brightly colored tandem bicycle had two hands free to wave a friendly, "Ola!" Returning a "two thumbs up" salute, the roadsters returned to Tucson and continued on their ways for the afternoon.
