Oh, this November night was still warm. The monthly social included thoughts of Thanksgiving Day and visiting family.
A trio of roadsters greeted a lovely yellow Solstice with fascinating custom upholstered seats. Her name is SolRush. She has been reading our tales of Tucson Roadsters for months with great interest. Welcome to our club.
The nights' discussions reflected the excitement in our members in attending the 2nd Annual Tombstone Roadster Reunion. One recent count, 27 Roadsters from 6 states and 50 persons. The Reunion Roadster Display Show will be Saturday morning on 5th Street in Tombstone. Festivities will continue throughout the weekend.
Please note the vineyard tour on our November club calendar. New events appearing on the calendar in future months are the Kitt Peak Observatory Picnic, Car Show in Tubac in January, and the Valentine's Picnic.
Our December Roadster Social is the evening of the 12th, 6:30 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Juanis

Roadster's Place First in Class
San Pedro Valley Lions Club and LatiN CreationS Car Show in Mammoth, AZ
Sept 29, 2007
The day began with an early morning run of two roadsters on the Oracle Hiway, AZ Hwy 77. Travel was slow and made more pleasant by the view of several Classic Corvettes en-route to the "Run to the Pines" Corvette Showing in Pine Top, AZ. Juanis was admiring a copper colored, early sixty's vintage split-rear window Sting Ray model upon his arrival in Mammoth, AZ.

September Roadsters Social
With the onset of fall the daylight hours are shorter. The temperature is cooler and lots of folks are out enjoying the evening hours.
ThunderSky received his new license plate. This number adds to the uniqueness of his Sunshine Yellow Sky. All in attendance agreed that roadsters should have names.
Our three roadsters were pleased to meet an interested, prospective roadster owner, Mark. He has been navigating the dealers looking for his perfect roadster. A grad-fellow at, of course, UA, he has interests in SCCA and AutoX, too. We look forward to his company at our events in future months.

Juanis gets a call out of the blue, " . . . we want to drive to Tucson for a sandwich; what do we do?"
After a few words about the I-10 construction renovation in Tucson,
Gates Pass west of town and the Saguaro National Monument (West) come
to mind. So with sandwich in hand, Juanis joins them.

The weather cooperated with the picnickers this time.
Saturday afternoon down on the flats in Tucson was a warm 101oF.
Unusually high humidity made for a sticky departure to Mt Lemmon for
the rescheduled July picnic. The clouds were far away. The wind was
calm. Sunscreen and sun glasses were the order of the day.
A quorum of two roadsters made the trip to the cool air atop Mt Lemmon that afternoon. Here are our venturesome picnickers Rando67 and Juanis in Aspen.
That's the Aspen Vista Parking Pullout at the 8000 foot elevation. View the Photo Gallery and see them basking in the sun on the Seven Cataracts Vista.
Two additional roadsters
were spotted on the Catalina Scenic Hiway that afternoon. A Mysterious
Solstice with a driver in an olive Greek cap with a lady friend with great hair.
Also, a Sunburst Yellow Sky that went by so fast the sound had to catch
up. The picnic Roadsters waved frantically to no avail; these two fine
roadsters disappeared into the forest of Mt Lemon to be discovered
another day.
Keep your eye on or Club Calendar page for upcomming Tucson Roadster events.

Rescheduled Mt Lemon Picnic Drive
The monsoon rains in Tucson are more quiet. The heat is up. The high temperatures on the last few days have been 102, 106 and 104 today. The road to Mt Lemon, Catalina Scenic Hiway, has been cleared of debris and repaired from recent storm damage. The Saturday forecast, August 18th, should be quite warm with a few scattered afternoon thunderstorms.
Now is the time to reschedule the picnic drive to Mt Lemon. This one will be earlier in the day to take advantage of cooler weather at the starting point. Plan on assembling at the Beyond Bread Bakery on East Speedway and Wilmot roads. Juanis will be there at 12:30 PM.
A check of the afternoon weather conditions at that time will determine the departure time of 1:15 PM on a course on North Wilmot, East on Tanque Verde Road to Catalina Hiway. Should the weather conditions be like the last picnic date, an "indoor picnic" will be required.
The afternoon destination will be the Aspen Vista parking pull-out. It is above the Palisades Visitor Center near the top of the mountain.
